Lenno

Lenno is a picturesque village with about 1900 people in a wonderful location around the "Baia di Venere" formed by the peninsula of Lavedo.  Lenno is situated at Lake Como between Ossuccio and Mezzegra and is near Menaggio (5 km).In Lenno, there are several religious buildings, which are regarded as important works of art, as well as the crypt of the church of S. Stefano in the village square and opposite the roman octagonal baptistery.

Lenno is a sunny, lively place with good restaurants, bars and all necessary shops for daily needs. At also has a beautiful waterfront promenade with beach and jetties with boat connections to all major towns on the lake.Lenno also offers a variety of sports such as tennis, sailing, windsurfing, motor boating, swimming, etc.

Excursions
Como (30 km), Milan (70km), Lugano (30 km), the famous ski resorts like St. Moritz (100km) or Madesimo can be reached by car in about 150 minutes.

Worth seeing in the village and the surrounding area
The main attraction is the Villa del Balbianello with its beautiful garden, which also served as the backdrop for the movie Star Wars.
On a mountain slope above Lenno is the Abbey of Acquafredda with its coloured frescos. Founded in the 13th century.

Walks and hikes
Short but worth it is the walk that passes through the upper part Lenno to the Sacred Mountain of Ossuccio (Sacro Monte di Ossuccio) with its 14 chapels and the church "Santuario della Madonna del Soccorso.

An open air market is on the promenade every Tuesday.
