The former fishing village Domaso offers you a beautiful long beach and a lovely old town with many restaurants and bars, disco and of course shopping opportunities, and sporting possibilities. Domaso is also an ideal starting point for hiking and mountain biking. Domaso once a fishing village, is now a popular and lively resort situated on the northern shore of Lake Como. Gravedona is 2km west and Menaggio is 20 km south. From Domaso you have a magnificent view over the whole northern and central parts of the lake, and Monte Legnone (2609 m) opposite. Domaso has a pleasant mild climate, due to the south wind 'Breva', which blows regularly from the late morning hours. The beach offers good swimming and excellent surfing, kite surfing and sailing conditions. In the summer season you have the possibility to take part in many different sports: sailing / windsurfing schools, water center, tennis courts, mini golf, mountain bike school with rental bikes.The tourism offer is complemented by an above average number of restaurants, bars and some nightclubs. Pier (ferrys, hydrofoils) to connect to the sites of Lake Como.
Domaso-Pozzolo is a sunny little hamlet of Domaso and is only a 5 minutes drive to the popular resort of Domaso. Pozzolo is located on a sunny hillside in former vineyard terraces. In Pozzolo you will find two wineries.

Shopping Tips:
Gelateria - Enoteca Monti is the absolute tip - Bar & Gelateria Monti near the Esso gas station.They have the best Briosch, sweet filled pies/cakes specialities and coffee in many varieties. In summer you will find the large ice-assortiment which you can enjoy on their beautiful covered patio. There is also a small but nice wine-Enoteca, closed (in winter) every Tuesday, Tel: 0344/95 005.

Has wine tasting, you can also buy the wine in smaller quantities, situated across from the old fishing port of Domaso. Closed Wednesdays, 0344/96 171.
Ristorante dei Pescatori
Very nice covered terrace overlooking the lake. Local cuisine, fresh fish from local fishermen, pizza. If you are coming from Gera Lario the restaurant is directly as you enter Domaso. Closed on Wednesdays.Parking available.Via Case Sparse 197, Tel 03444/96 088.
Locanda Castello
Very cozy rustic restaurant above Domaso. The house specialties are cheese and meat fondues, raclette as well. Idyllic patio with rustic stone tables. Reservations are recommended. Closed on Thursdays.Via Gaggio, phone 0344/ 85 470.
Directions from the North: Take the right turn after the bridge in Domaso, then take the first small street on the right past the church and about 3 km up the hill until you reach Gaggio.The car must be left at Gaggio, the rest of the way to Locanda you have to go on foot for about 70 meters.
