Dongo is a sunny, lively town on the north western shore of Lake Como, just 4 km from Gravedona and approximately 6 km from Domaso. Menaggio is 13 km to the south. In the village of Dongo, you will find all the facilities for daily needs, as well as good restaurants and an abundance of sport possibilities and entertainment. Near the large square at the lake you will find the boat mooring station and boats that can take you to other places along the lake. In the northern part of the lake is a beautiful shallow beach (grass, gravel), and good surfing opportunities. From this beach it is possible to take a pretty lake walk (or even cycle) as far as Gravedona.
A small road leads to the mountain villages of Stazzona (panoramic view), Garzeno and in the high alpine valleys Albano and San Iorio, which offers a delightful contrast to the sub-tropical vegetation on the lake. From Dongo take a walk along the mountain trail 'Via dei Monti Lariani ', or go high above the lake to Musso, there is also a jogging path.
