Since May 16, 2021, Italy has allowed holidaymakers from the EU + Schengen countries - and also for people from Switzerland to return to Italy.

GOOD NEWS: No more quarantine requirements for tested travelers returning home.

Entry into Italy
Since May 16, holidaymakers from the EU and the Schengen countries have been able to holiday in Italy again.
The following are mandatory for the journey to Italy (also applies to vaccinated and convalescent people):

1. Registration in the  Portal European Passenger Locator Form

If it was not possible to register via the portal, you can alternatively fill out a self-declaration form (this must be printed out and filled out with you during the trip).

2. Green passport
- Proof of a negative test result (PCR or rapid antigen test) from the last 48 hours before entry,
- OR proof of vaccination
- OR recovery from Covid.
A person is considered to have been vaccinated if they have completed the intended vaccination cycle (with an EMA-approved vaccine) for 14 days.

The aforementioned evidence must be available in Italian, French, English or Spanish.
The compulsory test does not apply to children under 6 years of age.
The Green Passport, also known as the "European COVID Certificate", will be officially issued by every European country from July 1st, 2021. You can find out how the situation is in Germany on the website of the Federal Government:
