The village of Bassano is a part of Tronzano , it is 4 km above the Lago Maggiore at a dead end, you cannot go further than to Bassano (Bassano di Monti) with the car.

Tronzano Lago Maggiore is located on the banks of Lake Maggiore, in the foothills of Mount Borgna and is a tiny Lombardian municipality in the province of Varese. Only Pino further north separates it from Switzerland. The ancient district is located in the hilly part of the village, where the first houses were built. Closer to the lake however, are also some houses and villas. The district of Bassano is located on the hillside.

Sights worth seeing

Located in the hamlet of Bassano is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, with its romanesque bell tower.

The eastern shore of Lake Maggiore is very good for windsurfing. Windsurfing and swimming are the most important sport in the waters of Tronzano, especially in the district of Canovi. If you prefer more activities you can go on one of the many walking paths that are in the area.
