Umbria with Perugia as its capital is described in literature as "the green heart of Italy". Lake Trasimeno, the Marble Falls Cascata delle "Marmore" and the River Tiber create a fertile land. The region is characterized by rolling hills, lush green fields and landscaped, historical places.
Umbria is located in central Italy between Tuscany, Lazio and Le Marche and consists of the provinces of Perugia and Terni. It is the only region of Italy, which has neither a coast nor a border with another country. In the south of Umbria lies the geographic center of Italy. The highest point is Mount Vettore on the border with Le Marche which is 2476 m above sea level.

The climate in Umbria
Umbria is located in the subtropical Mediterranean and is thus characterized by relatively dry and hot summers. Winters are relatively mild.

The typical and oldest crafts in Umbria is the ceramic. This craft was already executed in the time of the Etruscans. In the 14th century, the city of Gubbio had a pottery school, the Collegio di Vasari. Due to its special style peculiarities and processing methods the Unbrian ceramics were the hallmark of this region and they include tiles for walls and floors, precious dishes and utensils of all kinds.

The traditional Umbrian cuisine with centuries-old roots offers the best delicacies from nature: black and white truffles, lentils, extra virgin olive oils and DOC wines such as Assisi, ColliAltotiberini, ColliAmerini, Colli del Trasimeno, Colli Martani, Colli Perugini, Lago di Corbara. , Montefalco, Orvieto (Orvieto Classico), Rosso Orvietano and Torgiano. A specialty from Perugia is the dessert "Bacio Perugina".
